Photo adventure Iceland fall 2025

The time has come: in 2025, the sun has reached the maximum of its current eleven-year solar cycle - the phase in which it produces particularly strong bursts of radiation and solar storms. This means increased chances of geomagnetic storms which will lead to spectacular northern lights in all imaginable colors and shapes on our planet. NASA also predicts that the solar maximum will last until 2026. So what could be better than traveling to Iceland to capture this unique opportunity!

The Photographer

My name is Stefan Liebermann. I am an internationally award-winning landscape and night photographer and study at the Technical University of Ilmenau in Germany. As a Sony Europe Imaging Ambassador, I travel around the world with my camera to capture fantastic moments in nature.

With my photos I want to share my fascination for night photography. By using an extremely light-sensitive sensor, we have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in a magical new world. It is a special form of art: not visible to the naked eye, but real!
